It captures you and pulls you in- into a world lovely, magical and romantic. Black and white and gray mingle with things that seem impossible yet capture your imagination and you want to believe.
A circus that arrives without warning and is open only at night - a place full of wonder, mystery and beauty.
This is The Night Circus - Le Cirque des Reves.
This book was wonderful- richly detailed with a story that weaves itself around you and won't let go. I could hardly put it down. I can picture Le Cirque des Reves as clearly in my mind as if I had been there last night.
The story is smart, cleverly crafted in a way that moves between time and spans of years and possibilities that has you clinging to the characters, wondering what will happen in the end.
Have you read it? Do you belong with the reveurs?

I'm glad to read that you looked this book so much! I've been wanting to read it for quite some time. I even had it checked out from the library, but it was over the holidays and I never managed to even start reading it! We have a trip next week, so I think I'll just go but it.
I've read most of it. I actually didn't like it at all and stopped about halfway through to move on to something that I would enjoy more. I feel like I need to give it another chance some day because everyone liked it so much, but I don't typically do that (too many things to read!)
There is a project called NaNoWriMo. It is in the month of November where people attempt to write a 50,000 word novel. This book was one of the participants works! I have been wanting to read it since I learned about the book through the program a few years ago! So excited to hear someone else has read it. Maybe I will pick it up at the library...
I just read this for my book club and we meet on Tuesday next to discuss it. I found the book very imaginitive, but I kind of feel like the author didn't quite know where to take it at the end. Still glad I read it, though!
I read this book as well and found it interesting but not on my love this book list.
Ooh, I totally didn't know that this was one of the NaNoWriMo novels...I participated in that one November and actually finished. Although my novel wasn't fabulous, I finished.
The cover art is what drew me in and I actually borrowed this multiple times from the library; but never finished it. I think it was more a finding time to read issue then the book itself.
You'll have to let us know your thoughts.
I will have to pick it up. Thanks for the review.
I absolutely loved this book, and am so glad to find someone else who loves it too. It is right up there in my top 5 along with Time Travellers Wife, Pillars of the Earth, The Far Pavillions & The Other Boleyn Girl.
I agree the descriptive prose is fabulous and creates such vivid pictures in your mind.
Actually all this talking about it has made me want to go back and re-read it :)
Going to check and see if my library has this! Sounds intriguing! Fi
Loved reading the book. The imagery in it, the plot, the writing made it a keep me up too late read.
It was nice to read something I might not have picked up but I kept hearing how wonderful it was. It was unique and different. Can't wait to see what else she'll write.
Sounds interesting!
I love that book! I have been recomending it to everyone that will listen. So unique!
I loved this book! I think it would be an awesome movie with the right director--someone who does IMAGE and COLOR and MOVEMENT. Like, say Baz Luhrmann.
I finished it a couple of weeks ago ~ love it! It would make an interesting movie ~ don't you think?
I loved this book! Still think of it often, which is a sure sign of a good read.
That's so funny. I just barely checked this book out from the library. I'm excited to read it. I've heard a lot of great things.
I loved this book! Such a great read. : )
